Emerging Issues in Forest Policy

The contributors to this collection bring a wide range of perspectives to their discussion of forestry and forest policy analysis. The authors, who come from Canada, the US and Sweden, discuss such issues as timber supply, property rights, productivity and technical change, social impacts, environment and climate change, multiple-use forestry, trade in forest products and Third World forestry. Within the last few decades, it has become increasingly apparent that forests and their wealth of resources bear directly upon many of the most pressing social, economic, and environmental concerns of our time. This volume draws together forty of the foremost experts in forest policy to address the diverse range of issues which characterize the intimate interrelationship between forests and humankind.
