About the Book

A guide to networking with IntranetWare, NetWare, or with networks in general. It discusses how to set up and manage an intranet quickly and easily with Novell's intranet platform, as well as how to deal with everyday networking challenges. The book provides the networking basics of fundamental technology, operation, usage and etiquette, and covers organization of intranets as well as maintaining, protecting and growing them.

About the Author :
About the Authors Ed Tittel has been a freelance writer for more than a dozen years. He's contributed to 60-plus books, including five ...For Dummies titles on topics that include NetWare, networking Windows NT, HTML, and XML. He's also published widely in the computer trade press, for journals from the now-defunct Byte Magazine to the Web Developer's Journal (and many points in between). Ed is a former Director of Technical Marketing for Novell, Inc., where he worked from 1988 to 1994. An adopted native of Austin, Texas, Ed has lived there for more than 20 years and has loved every minute of it. Whenever he's not busy writing or teaching, Ed enjoys cooking, playing with his new Labrador puppy, Blackie, and shooting pool. You can reach Ed via e-mail at etittel@lanw.com. James Gaskin has written seven books on interconnecting PC networks and how they connect to the rest of the world. His most recent books include portions of Networking With NetWare For Dummies, 4th Edition, IntranetWare BorderManager and The Complete Guide to NetWare 4.11/IntranetWare for Sybex/Network Press, and NetWare to Internet Gateways and Corporate Politics and the Internet: Connection Without Controversy for Prentice-Hall. James is a regular contributor to Inter@ctive Week, Network World, and Information Week, where he reviews new network technologies and writes occasional features on technology. You can reach James via e-mail at james@gaskin.com. David Johnson (also known as DJ) has worked in the networking trenches as a network administrator, manager, and trainer for eight years. Working for large corporations such as Pharmaco and GTECH, he learned his way around LAN and WAN technologies in exotic locations that range from Trinidad to the U.K. to Brazil to Warwick, Rhode Island, and back home to Austin, Texas. So far, he's contributed to 12 networking and Windows NT-related titles, which focus on certification. He's ecstatic to be writing about NetWare again! In his "spare time," DJ enjoys nothing more than a good book, a nice meal, and a bottle of outstanding Cabernet.
