About the Book

This book is about business as it is and not as it should be. The author draws on his vast experience of global organisations to present real-life solutions and observations on the common challenges faced by management at all levels. It looks at typical patterns of success and failure in the most common and frustrating situations that management face: bad meetings, boring presentations, political intrigue, difficult bosses and unhelpful staff. Over 150 universal management challenges are dealt with - each is described, and successful and unsuccessful responses are illustrated with case studies. The only guide management can use on a daily basis, this is not a grand theory of management - it is a practical guide to survival in the real world.
