About the Author :
S. Fred Singer fue decano fundador de la Escuela de las Ciencias Ambientales y Planetarias en la Universidad de Miami, asi como el primer director del Servicio Nacional de Satelites Meteorologicos de EE.UU. Ademas sirvio durante cinco anos como vicepresidente del Comite Asesor Nacional Estadounidense sobre los Oceanos y la Atmosfera. Es autor o redactor de mas de una docena de libros o monografias, entre ellos Global Climate Change (Paragon House, 1989) y Hot Talk, Cold Science: Global Warming's Unfinished Debate, (Independent Institute, 1997). Dennis T. Avery ha sido asociado principal del Instituto Hudson desde 1989. Anteriormente fue analista principal en el Departamento de Estado de EE.UU. (1980-88), donde en 1983 recibio la Medalla de Exito en el Servicio de la Inteligencia Nacional. La obra de Avery, Saving the Planet With Pesticides and Plastic: The Environmental Triumph of High-Yield Farming (Hudson), fue editada en 1995, con una segunda edicion en el 2000.

Los autores subrayan la observacion de que el 'consenso' no tiene cabida en las ciencias, sino que es menester someter las especulaciones a pruebas frias. Sus pruebas del calentamiento erratico y moderado de la Tierra desde 1850, los lleva al ciclo climatico de 1.500 anos, recien descubierto pero ya extensamente estudiado. -- Frederick Seitz, antiguo presidente de la Academia Nacional de Ciencias Singer y Avery presentan, en lenguaje popular y con base en un examen a fondo de la evidencia que da la ciencia, el concepto irresistible de que el aumento en las temperaturas de la Tierra es, en su mayoria o en su totalidad, el resultado de un ciclo natural.
