The Use of Force: Military Power and International Politics

This sixth edition has the addition of 13 new selections that highlight 21st-century challenges, including terrorism and weapons of mass destruction. The hallmarks of the book are its presentation of strategies for using force, together with case studies that illustrate the general principles. New case studies here include Kosovo, Afghanistan, Iraq and South Asia. An entirely new section devoted to "coping with terrorism" looks at the issue from a variety of geographical and philosophical viewpoints.
