About the Book

Today, marriages have a 50 percent chance of lasting. Longing to improve those odds, pastor Clayton King, author of the popular Dying to Live, and his wife, Sharie, reveal a revolutionary biblical perspective—at the heart of a godly union is a heart of service. Love is more about understanding one’s spouse than being understood. Offering wisdom from God’s Word and beneficial advice from their decade of marriage, the Kings present 12 relationship-building questions for couples to ask before they wed. They guide and encourage couples to discuss their: religious backgrounds past relationships desires for family and future financial habits and goals vocational aspirations These questions reveal expectations and concerns and help each person understand the needs and hopes of their loved one. A great resource for churches, counselors, dating couples, and young men and women who dream of a forever marriage.

About the Author :
Sharie King is an artist, author, and a popular speaker at youth and women’s conferences. She has coauthored 12 Questions to Ask Before You Marry with her husband, Clayton. Together with her pastor-evangelist husband, Sharie shares a passion to serve Christ through ministry, missions, and marriage, which she pursues by prioritizing being a wife to Clayton and a mom to their two sons. Clayton King, a pastor, evangelist, missionary, and author, has been dedicated since age 14 to proclaiming the gospel and calling Christians to live out the life of Jesus. He has spoken to millions of people in 30-plus countries and written numerous books, including Dying to Live, Amazing Encounters with God, and 12 Questions to Ask Before You Marry (coauthored with his wife, Sharie). Clayton loves good books, the outdoors, strong coffee, dirt bikes and four-wheelers, and especially his wife and children.

Review :
“Clayton and Charie have written the book that single people have been waiting for. It is practical. It is biblical. It is filled with advice that is doable. And it also has much to offer married people as well. In a day when the church desperately needs its people to show the reality of the gospel to a lost world by how we love each other in our marriages, I cannot think of a better book for Christians to read and implement than this one.” —Perry Noble, Senior pastor, Newspring Church “While some claim to have all the answers, Clayton and Charie take another approach. You might say they have all the questions. The eye-opening book they’ve written, 12 Questions to Ask Before You Marry, will show you that your craving for lifelong intimacy is a God-given desire. With wisdom, humor, and practical advice, they’ll help you prepare for that God-honoring relationship… “With God’s direction through this powerful book, I pray you’ll find the answers that lead you to the one-of-a-kind love story God has written for your life.” —Craig Groeschel, author; founding and senior pastor of LifeChurch.tv “Future generations of husbands and wives need wise, biblical instruction on how to enjoy God’s gift of marriage. Clayton and Charie King have done a fantastic job of preparing young men and women for marriage by encouraging them to ask commonsense questions that reveal very important issues of character, conviction, and competence. I urge you to read this book, whether you are dating or have been married for 40 years.” —Daniel Akin, president, Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary and author of God on Sex “Here at Liberty University, the world’s largest Christian university, we have recently been blessed to have Clayton King serve as our campus pastor. He is loved by our students, who demand authenticity and candor from their spiritual leaders. Students joke about how many breakups occur after some of Clayton’s sermons, but they are thankful because the biblically based instruction that he provides about love and marriage has helped prevent many mistakes that could have ruined young lives. In this book, he and Charie, his wife, share the same truth and wisdom, which I believe will help young Christian couples build strong relationships that will last for a lifetime.” —Jerry Falwell Jr., chancellor and president, Liberty University “Clayton and Charie King have crafted a book that needs to be read by married couples as well as singles, college students, parents of teenagers, and adolescents. Too often, people approach marriage as if the feelings of love alone will sustain them indefinitely. Of course, this is not true, but this book goes further than quoting divorce statistics and flashing warning signs. It encourages caution, instructs with wisdom, and inspires with biblical truth. I hope you will read this book and apply its principles.” —Tim Clinton, president, American Association of Christian Counselors “Clayton and Charie King want to see marriages bring joy to families and glory to God. This helpful book advises young adults to look past sentimental notions of romance to see the challenges and rewards of the reality of lifelong commitment. Clayton and Charie offer strong medicine that will lead to stronger families.” —Trevin Wax, author of Counterfeit Gospels and Holy Subversion “The Kings have demonstrated to me personally over the last ten years what it means to be truly married and truly following Christ. They have patterned their lives not on mountaintop ideals but on hard-won principles from the Word lived out in the valleys of real life. Clayton and Charie have written a gift to the church, a book on relationships that meets all of us wherever we are and spurs us on towards the gracious Lordship of Jesus Christ.” —Matt Orth, pastor, Broad River Community Church “Clayton King is one of the most anointed communicators in the church today. I have seen God use Clayton in front of thousands, and I’ve seen God use him in front of just a few people. In both situations, Clayton has the right word at the right moment to encourage, to influence, and most importantly, to point people to Christ. I know that God will use this book to impact thousands—my prayer is that you will allow this book to impact you.” —Jonathan Falwell, pastor, Thomas Road Baptist Church
