About the Author :
Claudio Reyna is perhaps the most prolific and successful soccer player ever produced in the U.S. In addition to captaining the U.S. National Team, Reyna has played for several European clubs. He starred in the Bundesliga for Bayer Leverkusen and VfL Wolfsburg, spent three seasons in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers where he helped the side to two league championships before moving to the English Premier League and Sunderland. He signed for present club Manchester City during the summer of 2003 and looks to have made a complete recovery from serious ankle ligament damage which kept him out for much of the previous season. Mike Woitalla is Executive Editor of Soccer America. He has covered the last three World Cups for the magazine and he is the only person to win five awards in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Writing Contest. He also has won two Professional Soccer Reporters of America awards.
