About the Book

John Caruthers' life has done a one hundred and eighty degree turn in just short of a year. For the past seven years, since arriving back in Ocean City, Maryland, he's been going through the motions of life. He left the nation of Qatar and the US Navy in 2012 expecting a wonderful life with his middle eastern fiancee'. But when her bags and belongings show up and she doesn't, he finds it hard to learn and accept the mystery surrounding her untimely death. But, these days life in Ocean City is looking a little better and brighter thanks to his new neighbor Annabelle Hollister and their budding romance. It may have been a rocky start for the two but as we get into summertime 2019 things for their two families and their surrounding group of friends seem to be moving full speed ahead. Meanwhile it's business as usual in Washington D.C. Yet another year and it looks like nothing is being done on behalf of the American People. Unless you were interesting in a pep talk from the floor of the House of Representatives. Texas Representative Thomas Hark has all of the American people in an uproar by letting them know they are lazy and just a sorry excuse for Americans. For him it's about beating the drum about the American Dream but the American people have heard the crony capitalist lies for the past 50 years and no longer are they interested. Especially when they see the lifestyles of the uber wealthy and members of Congress living in the lap of luxury while they continue to lose economic ground. Is there any wonder why W2 income is at an all time low or why Congress has an approval rating of three percent? But underneath the seemingly obvious divisive nature of politics and the constant barrage of the 24 hour news cycle, there is something else going on. Something tugging at the very fabric of American society. The American and world economy has fundamentally changed and further people are feeling disenfranchised and are taking matters into their own hands. It's been nearly 20 years since the start of the War on Terror and the American people are no closer to seeing a resolution. Instead, ISIS North America is penetrating further and further into every region of the United States. The nation is one step closer to all out revolt. It's all coming to a head. Labor Day is right around the corner and politicians will seek to use this time to reconcile with the American People after the incendiary comments made by the Gentleman from Texas. But it all doesn't end as things were planned. In fact, other sinister plans begin to unfold that will eventually engulf the nation. Life in the United States has fundamentally changed but life in a world of nation-states may ultimately be a thing of the past too.
