About the Book

Spinning off from the Chronicles of the Imagination series, Parallel Encounters - The Prism's Echo takes us to the planet Staranana less than a week after Scotty and his friends have returned from the deep biblical past. With relaxation being the word of the day, the Starananians soon find themselves in the vast halls of the Palace library where a mysterious book called The Prism's Echo is brought to their attention. To the naked eye, it is just a book, but to a reader with the right question, it opens the door to infinite possible realities. Unfortunately for Scotty, the wrong question lands him stranded in an alternate universe where humanity has fallen to a space age Nazi regime. To get home, he'll have to enlist the help of a new rebellion, and even come face to face with his own rough-edged alter ego, before confronting the new head of the Nazi himself - Emperor Saki Chu. Is this adventure just a fantasy perpetrated by a mystical book, or is this parallel encounter one that will forever change the course of two universes?

About the Author :
David Scott Fields II was raised in the farming community of Prineville, Oregon. It was here during long summer walks that Scott discovered his love of storytelling. He would spend these walks making up stories that he would then relate to his friends and family. Drawing his inspiration from such authors as C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Rudyard Kipling, countless stories soon made their way into written form. The crowning achievement of these was his Chronicles of the Imagination series. Scott describes the beginning of Chronicles of the Imagination saying, "It all began one day on the fourth grade playground at Ochoco Elementary School under what I called the elephant tree. Bored that day and with no friends around, I created the character Sparkey Moonbeam, a young bear cub from the icy planet Staranana. From there Staranana took on a life of its own. Recesses from that point on would often take my friends and me to Staranana for great adventures. For me, it was non-stop fun and imagination. Eventually though, I became too old for make-believe, but the idea of Staranana never died. I knew it was time for my beloved ice-planet to exist in another form, and so I wrote my first full length novel, Chronicles of the Imagination: Staranana." In homage to those early games, Staranana and the novels to follow include all the original characters Scott created as a child - Sparkey Moonbeam, Lizard Face, etc. - and a version of Scott himself is featured with the nickname "Scotty." Even several of Scott's family and friends will encounter versions of themselves in the novel. Says Scott, "I could have changed the names of all the characters, and including myself as a main character was something I thought long and hard about, but in the end it just did not seem right to change anything. I wanted to preserve Staranana as it was, and I am glad I did." Scott's first novel, Staranana, was published in 2008 by Thrive Christian Press, followed thereafter by the novels Lizard Face, Nana-Old Testament, Nana-New Testament and now Parallel Encounters - The Prism's Echo. As a Bible-believing Christian, Scott has written his books for the glory of God, and every book in his series has a gospel centered theme. When asked about his future as a writer, Scott says, "When I get to be 99 I'll think about stopping...maybe."
