ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPHERS Wayne Levin lives on the Big Island's Kona Coast where he is famous for swimming far out to sea to photograph dolphins and whales; and for swimming closer in, among the big waves, to photograph surfers.  He has had shows in Paris, Tokyo, and New York, and his photographs are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York as well as in Hawai'i at the Honolulu Academy of Art, the Contemporary Arts Center, and the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts.  A recipient fo the Photogrphers Fellowship of the National Endowment for the Arts, Levin has seen his photographs published in numerous magazines and journals including Manoa, A Pacific Journal of International Writing; and in Kalaupapa: A Portrait, a book illustrating the history and life of Moloka'i's leper colony. Paul Chesley has been a freelance photographer with teh National Geographic Society  since 1975, traveleing regularly throughout Europe and Asia.  He was recently honored by the inclusion of his work in the Society's first major exhibition, "The Art of Photography at National Geographic: A 100 Year Retrospective: at teh Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. Solo exhibitions of his work have appeared in museums in London, Tokyo, and New York; and his photographic essays are regularly featured in such magazines as LIFE, Fortune, Bunte, Paris Match, and Connoisseur.  Over the past six years he has participated in 10 Day in the Life book projects.
