About the Book

NEW SERIES: Five strangers compete to solve an Impossible Mystery. There're millions at stake and two weeks to do it. Police say the case is open-and-shut. The heir to a massive fortune, Heath Burlington, slaughters his parents, calls and confesses to the crimes, then turns the gun on himself. Heath's grandfather says, "Not so fast." With the case now closed, the wealthy mogul assembles his own crack team of detectives-five amateur sleuths with a nose for mystery and a need to prove themselves-then pits them against each other to solve it. THE IMPOSSIBLE MISSION: "Prove Heath's innocence and you get $1 million each. The sleuth who makes the biggest breakthrough scores a bonus million. The sleuth who does the least gets nothing." They have just two weeks. INTRODUCING: THE SLEUTHS OF LAST RESORT Cluedo champ Merry (she can read a crime scene like no other); Reckless PI Kila (his rule-breaking is just what this case requires); Bestselling crime author Martin (he wrote the book on Locked Room Mysteries); Dinosaur ex-detective Earle (he crosses his Ts but has the contacts); Fearless crime reporter Frankie (she knows the case inside out. Or thought she did...) AND SO THE ADVENTURE BEGINS... As the story twists from Sydney's clifftop mega-mansions to the shadowy Snowy Mountains and back, the sleuths must learn to work together-and to their skill-set-to solve the mystery and face their own demons before their time runs out. From the best-selling author comes an exciting new series for fans of fun, fast-paced whodunnits.

She has also written a book about Papua New Guinea, where she was born, and a psychological suspense novel - After the Ferry - set in the Greek Islands, where she worked in her youth. Larmer's aim is to baffle, surprise, delight, entertain and leave you kicking yourself at the end of each book (you were THIS close to working out whodunnit!).

Review :
"Blind Men Don't Dial Zero will have even the most seasoned sleuth baffled as these amateurs tackle a wealthy family, loyal employees, and unsavory boyfriends. George Burlington hires a motley group to prove his grandson, Heath, is innocent of killing his parents. Will they get paid the million promised if Heath is guilty, as it appears he is by all accounts? Each of these sleuths brings strength, but also a major flaw in their life. As different as they can be, they form a team that uses their strengths and spot clues experts miss. I found Blind Men Don't Dial Zero intriguing when each of the investigators finds a clue after hitting a dead-end. C.A. Larmer's experience as a writer and love of suspense shines through her novel. Larmer weaves a complex web of mystery as her characters rule the pages. The action smoothly transitions between the sleuths as they question suspects, gather evidence, and tackle the lies and deceit planted by the family. You will find this action-filled journey unforgettable and hard to put down. She's a veteran author that will sharpen your mind and question twists and turns." - Peggy Jo Wipf for Readers' Favorite "This was such a clever premise! Police have decided a murder case is open-and-shut when the heir to a fortune, Heath Burlington, kills his parents, confesses, then turns the gun on himself. But with the case now closed, Heath's grandfather Sir George pulls a team of five amateur detectives together to prove themselves. With $1 million at stake and a chance for an additional $1 million, they are in competition to solve the case and he gives them only two weeks to do it. The scramble that follows is entertaining as well as intriguing. Perhaps the better strategy is for them to join together and use each person's unique skills to find the answer. The twists and turns will keep the reader eagerly following the story to see what truth comes out of their investigation. Great idea for a fun adventure!" - Emily Pennington, Booksprout "The premise C.A. Larmer presented in this book piqued my interest from the very beginning. Each sleuth brought something unique to the group. When thrown into the project together, their clashes with each other pushed them almost to the verge of resignation. However, they slowly learned to work together, each playing to their strengths. Their eventful journey from utter cluelessness to a definite conclusion was a pleasure to read. The characters they were investigating were illustrious, their testimonies consisting of truths, half-truths, and blatant untruths. The plot took random turns, starting in one direction, hitting a roadblock, then backtracking. As a reader, it was immensely satisfying to accompany the amateur detectives as they blundered but never strayed off course. It heartened me to see that the case rewarded them with more than money. It helped them boost their personal lives as well. I recommend Blind Men Don't Dial Zero to any reader who appreciates mysteries and sleuth stories." - Shrabastee Chakraborty for Readers' Favorite
