The Alien Corps searched the galaxy for the Son of God for nearly a century. They've found nothing...until now.
The empath Hickory Lace and her team are dispatched to the planet Prosperine to assess the latest candidate in a long line of potential messiahs.
When they arrive, the team discovers a fantastic world of predatory beasts and deadly plants. To make things worse, the planet looks set to explode into a civil war that would threaten Earth's supply of crynidium, a rare metal essential for FTL travel.
If she is to succeed in her mission, Hickory must embrace the empathic gifts she was born with. Only then can she hope to stop the rebellion, discover what this alien messiah is up to, and decide whether he is a fraud-or perhaps the very person the Alien Corps has long been searching for.

About the Author :
PJ McDermott was born in Scotland in the town of Paisley, near Glasgow. As a boy he would "plunk" school and head to the local library to read any Science Fiction books he could lay his hands on. His favorite authors were Asimov, Herbert, Niven, Moorcock, and Le Guin. Probably the book he most enjoyed, though, was "Lord of the Rings" by Tolkien. "It was the grandest of adventures, exotic locations and magical characters that drew me in. Seriously, I read it at least six times!" These days, when he has time to relax (which isn't often, ) he enjoys the fantasy novels of Robin Hobb, George Martin and the modern SF writers, Vaughn Heppner, and Alex Weir. The author has published the 4-book science fiction adventure series Prosperine which includes The Alien Corps, Rise of the Erlachi, The Scarf, and Fractured Prophecy. All are available as e-books or in print, and The Alien Corps and Rise of the Erlachi are also available as audiobooks. The acclaimed semi-biographical, coming of age novel, "Small Fish Big Fish," was PJ's first novel, and has recently been rereleased as "Caught in the Long Grass." The author now lives in Australia with his wife, Sue, two daughters and grandchildren, Mia, Ryder Patrick, and Ethan. You can visit him at his website: www.pj-mcdermott.com
Review :
What readers are saying about this science fiction adventure.
"A Great read. Had me at the first chapter. I didn't want to stop reading. Loved the plot, the story line, the action!!"
"A fun read, perfect for the backyard hammock or a comfortable beach chair while on holiday."
"McDermott creates a very original and hopeful future world similar to the kind of sci-fi I grew up loving. His alien characters are delightful and believable. I couldn't wait to read the second book, Rise of the Erlachi, which is even better!"
"If you crossed The Expanse with Avatar and something Dan Brown wrote, you might come up with something close to the premise."
