About the Book

'Couple on the Run: 8 Marathons, 8 Countries, 8 Weeks, 1 Couple, Every Step Together' is the story of an Australian couple seeking to take their relationships to the next level while encouraging others to pursue healthy relationships by exercising with a partner. In October 2000 Sue and Andrew O'Brien completed the Chicago Marathon together and transformed their marriage and their lives by discovering that sticking together in the tough times can be difficult yet highly rewarding. Along the way they discovered that running, marriage and life is easier and more satisfying when shared with a partner. After years of running together in 2008 Sue and Andrew O'Brien set out from their home in Australia to complete 8 marathons in 8 countries in 8 weeks running every step together. 'Couple on the Run' explores Sue's background as an Australian Triathlete, mother and daughter of sporting legend Jack Clarke and Andrew's battle to overcome an unhealthy life style and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome through running. The O'Briens overcome life's challenges and show their commitment to encouraging others to exercise with a partner and take readers on a motivating journey to inspire others to improve their health and relationships. An inspirational story, 'Couple on the Run' includes practical tips for health and well being, relationships, teams, fitness and turning vision into reality.

About the Author :
Sue O'Brien Sue is a sought-after speaker and workshop presenter, and is recognized as a leading fitness expert who is a living example of what is possible when you put your expertise into practice. She loves her profession and has worked in the fitness industry for more than 25 years, regularly teaching 15 to 20 indoor cycle, aerobics and core strength classes each week while working with individual clients and developing Partnerunning. Sue is a mother of two who many years ago started running with her father, former Essendon great Jack Clarke, and brother Ian. Before taking up marathon running Sue was a regular winner of state and national age group triathlons and twice represented Australia at the world triathlon championships. Sue has a Bachelor of Education and is a regular contributor to her own learning as well as to the learning of others. Andrew O'Brien Andrew took up running in his 30s in order to improve his health and fitness after living an unhealthy lifestyle during his 20s. It was during this effort to regain his health that Andrew met Sue and before too long decided to run a marathon as a goal for recovering from illness. In 2004 Andrew was the Customer Service Institute of Australia's Victorian CEO of the Year and has worked in industries including retail, food service, sport and fitness, facility management and higher education. Andrew works with executive leaders to engage teams, staff and customers in effective strategy, successful partnerships and desired results. Andrew is the author of the Desired Futures series and shares the stage with Sue as well as speaking alone on his areas of expertise which include vision, strategy, performance and thought leadership. Andrew's doctorate, focusing on organizational performance through shared vision and collaboration, is from Swinburne University of Technology where he also completed a Master of Business Administration. Andrew also has a Master of Management degree from Monash University and a Master of Financial Planning from the University of the Sunshine Coast. He combines more than 20 years' CEO work with the latest management and partnering thinking to act as an executive adviser and Thought Leaders Mentor.
