About the Book

Most of us were taught that the left wing view of life is the correct one. Indeed, leftists often think those who disagree must be stupid or evil. But there are plenty of reasons to turn away from the left. Most of its ideas look good on the surface, yet crumble on close inspection. Then there's the coercive way we are bullied into believing them. To walk away is a surprising liberation. This book takes a fresh look at the sacred cows and strange habits of leftist thought. Find out how we were fooled and why it's time to rethink our ideas. Includes the chapters 'I Stole This Cake for George, ' 'A New Reason to Despise Artists, ' 'A Tale of Two Toxicities, ' and 'I'm Going for the Daleks Now.'

About the Author :
Duncan Smith is an Australian author and musician. He is most notable for writing three novels that come with rock music soundtracks, recorded with his band, Lighthouse XIII.These include 'The Vortex Winder' and 'The Maelstrom Ascendant, ' a two book saga about Jimmy Brandt's journey through the corrupt and hedonistic world of showbiz. The third novel, 'Cultown, ' is about Thomas Swan, leader of a bizarre religious cult which takes over a small American town.Smith has also written a non-fiction book, 'The Vast and the Spurious, ' which analyses the recent gender war between men and women. It is a witty but compassionate look at the state of play today, a time when there is more anger between men and women than ever before. His latest book, 'The Surprising Liberation' is also non-fiction. It is a detailed analysis of the political culture war of the last two decades.

Review :
'Bold analysis of some serious topics. This beautifully crafted and well written book is a joy to read.' S. Carmody. 'A lucid inquiry into complacency and its effects... Let's hope there's still time to wake up.' J.D. Kalan. 'A very unusual and most entertaining book... shows an acuteness of perception that is rare.' Dagmar Lenzbruk
