His house was full of the ornamentation, the ironwork and the bric a brac of the period. In the workshop in his back garden, he used many of the engineering techniques that were used by his Victorian forebears over a hundred years ago - all driven by the force that powered the Age - steam. With the coming of the Industrial Revolution a new breed of men began to appear. Their confidence and dynamism were unfounded; their energy immense. About the Author :
David Hall was Fred Dibnah's TV producer for many years, as well as a personal friend of his family. He made all of the most recent television series and is also the producer of Fred Dibnah's World. He is the author of Fred- the definitive biography of Fred Dibnah, Fred Dibnah's Buildings of Britain, Fred Dibnah's Made in Britain and Manchester's Finest, an account of life in Manchester in the aftermath of the deaths of the Busby Babes.
