She holds an associate degree in General Studies from Coffeyville Community College and a bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Stetson University, and has been walking in Christ since 2012. She was delivered from a lifestyle of homosexuality and overcame a learning disability through the power of prayer, the blood of Jesus and the Holy Spirit's guidance. JoAnn is a walking, talking miracle, having survived a horrific car accident which almost killed her in 2019. After all that she has gone through, she testifies that she is a New Creation in Christ Jesus. JoAnn is a member of Northgate Church in Hammond, Indiana, where she is involved in the Intercessory Prayer Group and has been given the opportunity to host the Prayer Line each weekday morning at 8:00 am.
