About the Book

Loss to Legacy is a map for conscious grieving. With inspiring stories marking the passage from darkness into light, Lily Myers Kaplan offers a method for honoring and growing from your sorrow. Loss is universal, she says. Whether you are grieving the death of someone you love, lamenting cultural and planetary upheaval, or mourning the dissolution of a marriage, ending of a career, or changing identity, this book will help you navigate its tumult. At the core of Loss to Legacy are ancient truths, nature's cycles, and acceptance of death as an essential part of the human experience. The included Stepping Stones Workbook leads you on a transformational path of inner exploration and soul-renewing exercises. With its beautiful storytelling and step-by-step healing process, Loss to Legacy guides you through mourning to find meaning, create purpose and build a living legacy--leaving what matters most in your own wake. Read this book. No matter the nature of your grief, it will give you courage, strength,
and a path for thinking and acting differently about life, death, and love. -Martha Kay (MK) Nelson Director of Psycho-Social Care, Mission Hospice & Home Care This work is an amazing contribution to grief literature. Beautiful writing, beautiful story telling. Read it, breathe in what you learn from the stories, and work the exercises step by step to reach new insights and understanding of your grief journey. -Julie Lockhart, retired Executive Director of WinterSpring Center:
Facing Loss, Embracing Life Again

About the Author :
Myers Kaplan's career has focused on guiding people to build meaning and purpose from the most challenging life circumstances. With thirty years in private practice, Lily draws from studies in mythology, archetypal psychology, and her experiences as a program director of a modern-day mystery-school, and as a hospice volunteer manager. Using story as a force for healing in her southern Oregon community is Lily's passion. Serving Spirit of Resh Foundation and providing one-on-one retreats at her twenty-acre Sanctuary at Rainbow Ridge is Lily's way of honoring Ancestors, sharing wisdom gained through hardship, and helping others find beauty in the midst of their losses.

In a society that insists we "move on" from sorrow, Lily invites us instead to dive deeply into it, to discover our own unique story and embrace its transformative power. Read this book. No matter the nature of your grief, it will give you courage, strength, and a path for thinking and acting differently about life, death, and love. " -Martha Kay (MK) Nelson Director of Psycho-Social Care, Mission Hospice & Home Care "Lily Myers Kaplan has written a deep and moving guide to finding our way through sorrow and creating a legacy to honor those we've lost. With wisdom and grace, she has led us through the early days of profound grief and forward into meaning and action. No matter whether your loss is recent or not so recent, her wonderful book, Loss to Legacy, belongs on your shelf and in your heart." -Cheryl Jones, host of Voice America Radio's Good Grief, grief counselor, and author of the novel, An Ocean Between Them "Lily Myers Kaplan has done a fantastic job of putting her body of work into a deep, rich and accessible form. As I followed the path Lily generously offers, I was able to transform my waves of inconsolable grief around species death, declining planetary health, and many personal losses...all at my own pace. I'm deeply changed by walking these stepping stones and am inspired to reframe loss into love, honor and grace. I heartily recommend Loss to Legacy to anyone who grieves." -Dean Walker, author of The Impossible Conversation and founder of Living Resilience "Lily Myers Kaplan is a wise storyteller who has learned the depths of grief and resurrection the hard way and she offers her hard-won wisdom to the rest of us. Her book is a stunning testament to the heart of being human and the personal transformation possible when one grieves deeply and well. " -Carolyn North, author of The Experience of a Lifetime: Living Fully, Dying Consciously
