Review :
Colin Gunton was one of the most prolific and stimulating theologians of the late twentieth century. Provocative and controversial at times, he ranged widely across the Christian spectrum and inspired a generation of students and admirers, who have now dedicated a well-deserved tribute to his achievement.
Colin Gunton was nothing if not provocative. Agree with him or disagree, he knew how to stir things up. The time is ripe for a major reassessment of his theological achievement, and this Handbook is an admirable place to start.
An outstanding list of contributors introduces us to Gunton's work with sympathy, astute critique, and an eye to the ongoing implications of his work. This volume is both a tribute to Gunton and an invitation to continue the kind of robust theological dialogue that he encouraged.
