About the Book

In this compelling sequel to IMPACTS, Dan, the main character, returns home after serving in the Navy near the end of World War II. The Japanese neighbors who cared for him since his parents' death had passed away, and their son Ito, Dan's boyhood friend had been killed while serving with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team in Italy. During his first year of college, Dan meets and falls in love with Meriko, a Japanese-American student. They share an intriguing and touching relationship, yet because of responsibilities to her family, their life together is uncertain. In his second year of study, Dan has an opportunity to model for Jantzen swimwear. Soon after, he is contacted by a doctor regarding three of the European women designers. Each of their husbands sustained war injuries which left them unable to father children. Dan accepts the role of progenitor which has thrilling and far-reaching implications. Back at college, Dan meets Honi, a severely disabled veteran who had served with Ito in the 442nd. By sharing remembrances of their mutual friend, a lasting friendship develops. Honi is invited to try his skills at making DISKnives and becomes a master craftsman. Dan offers Honi and his wife the ownership of the hunting knife company started by Dan, Ito, and their mentor and dear friend, Mr. Schmidt. Remarkable developments follow. Unique and diverse experiences make QUEST an intriguing and emotional adventure. Readers will find this a dramatic and sensitive novel which ends with Dan's departure for Italy to learn the details of Ito's death.

About the Author :
David Radmore was born and reared in Oregon. After serving in the Navy near the end of World War II, he studied to become a teacher. Twice while at college, he interrupted his formal education: once to work with the Oregon State Police, and again to spend two years touring and working abroad. Extensive travel continued when David and his wife Ruth Audrey spent their fourteen-month honeymoon bicycle-camping through Europe and Morocco. The couple served two years with the Peace Corps as teachers in Nigeria. Later they shared a seven-month motorcycle-camping trip around the world. On four occasions, the author was a guest lecturer in Russia. Reflected in David's writings are his beliefs that "People make their own happiness," "It is important to find pleasure in each day," and that "Dreams can be realized."
