About the Author :
John Latham, PhD. Dr. Latham is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of GENITECT, LLC an organization diagnosis, design, and transformation firm with offices in Atlanta and Colorado Springs. An international management consultant and organization architect he specializes in the assessment and redesign of business systems to achieve sustainable results for multiple stakeholders. His work focuses on helping senior executives design and lead strategic change initiatives from strategy to results including strategic leadership, execution excellence, and organizational learning. John has over 27 years experience working in and with a variety of commercial, non-profit, and government organizations from Asia to Europe. He has had a wide variety of work experiences from his first job as a Jet Engine Mechanic for the U.S. Air Force to Vice President of Corporate Quality and Business Excellence for Dade Behring a $1.3 billion in vitro diagnostics manufacturer with operations in 40 countries. Some of his clients have included Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Boeing Airlift & Tanker, Kawasaki Robotics, British Airways, Lockheed Martin, Motorola, ASTD and TATA (India). John has served on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Board of Examiners since 1996. He served as an Examiner in 1996, a Senior Examiner from 1997 to 2001, and an Alumni examiner in 2003 and 2004. As a senior examiner and leader for the program he led the evaluations of some of the nation's highest performing companies including leading site visits in 2000 and 2001. John served as the Chair of the Judges Panel and Lead Judge for the U.S. Army Communities of Excellence (ACOE) Award, a Baldrige-based installation improvement program, in 2003 and 2004. As a member of the Hawaii State Award of Excellence Executive Committee from 1994 to 1997, John helped lead the design and development of the award evaluation and judging processes and personally trained and coached the Board of Examiners. John Vinyard John is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of GENITECT, LLC an organization diagnosis, design, and transformation firm with offices in Atlanta and Colorado Springs. Genitect is passionately dedicated to helping client organizations improve. This is achieved through effectively assessing organizations, and working with leadership to design and implement change. John has worked with numerous international firms in Europe, the Middle East, India, and the Pacific Rim. He specializes in working with leadership teams to help transform their organizations. John has worked with five Baldrige winners throughout their journey, and has helped them use the Baldrige Model to significantly impact their bottom-line results. John has over 36 years experience working with improvement at all levels. he focuses on helping executives design and lead strategic change initiatives from strategy to results including: strategic leadership, execution excellence, and organizational learning. John has experience with commercial, nonprofit, education and government organizations including Boeing Aerospace (2003 Baldrige Winner), Clarke American (2001 Baldrige Winner), Ritz Carlton Hotel Company (1999 Baldrige Winner), Boeing Airlift & Tanker (1998 Baldrige Winner) and Corning Telecommunications Products Division (1995Baldrige Winner). Other clients have included the U.S. Army, the U.S. Air Force, Eaton Corporation, Lanier Worldwide, Cessna Aircraft, Shorts Brothers, LLD, TATA Corporation (India), InfoSys (India) Bekaert Corporation (Belgium - the first winner of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM)Award), and many others. His first job was as a Quality Engineer for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft. He has held positions as: Director, Engine Maintenance, United Airlines; VP Quality and Manufacturing Operations, GenCorp Polymer Products; and Group VP, Manufacturing, Cadmus Communications.
