About the Author :
Writer, instructional designer, trainer, and developmental editor, Janis Chan has more than 30 years experience as an instructional designer and trainer and has done extensive research on learning theories, best practices, and methodology, and the real-world experiences of other training professionals. As co-founder of Advanced Communication Designs, Inc. she designed and conducted customized workshops on topics that included business writing, meeting planning, managing priorities, delegating, interpersonal communication, performance management, and making presentations. Working with a wide range of clients, she has developed facilitator's guides, participant workbooks, and self-study materials and written and edited books, training materials, marketing materials, manuals and other documents. She is the author of Academic Manager's Guide to Meetings (Jossey-Bass) and served as developmental editor for the highly acclaimed Leadership Challenge series, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team Workshop Kit, and several other training packages and books.
