About the Book

With masterful storytelling in the vein of Stephen King, Travis Thrasher draws readers into a Christian horror novel so gripping it cannot be put down. James Miller is a burnt-out missionary whose time on the mission field in Papua New Guinea left him exhausted and disillusioned. His wife, Stephanie, feels like she's losing her mind. After moving to North Carolina, Stephanie begins seeing strange and frightening things: blood dripping down the walls, one of her children suffocating; premonitions, she's sure, of what's to come. As the visions and haunting images intensify, Stephanie asks her brother to come for a much-needed visit, but he's hiding secrets of his own that will prove more destructive than Stephanie can imagine. Nine-year-old Zachary sees his family's move as an adventure and as he explores the new house, he discovers every young boy's dream: secret passageways and hidden rooms. But what seems exciting at first quickly becomes altogether frightening. When a snowstorm traps the Millers, the supernatural dangers of their new home will test everything they thought they knew about each other, and about their faith.

He and his wife, Sharon, live with their daughter in Chicago IL.

Review :
"How does Christian horror actually work? I'm not really sure, but fiction writer Travis Thrasher has successfully figured out the formula. He's combined Christian faith with a Stephen King-esque setting to explore what happens to your psyche when you are in the midst of a spiritual attack. The result is one of the most horrifying novels I've read in a long time." "Not only will this book scare you (and I mean scare you), but it will also challenge your faith and remind you of the all encompassing power of the love of our Savior. [Travis] only gets better with each new offering and this latest tale might just be his best yet." "Thrasher . . . demonstrates a considerable talent for the horror genre. Like Stephen King, Thrasher pits flawed but likable characters against evil forces that at first seem escapable but gradually take on a terrifying ubiquity." "honest . . . driven by authentic, engaging characters" -- on "The Promise Remains" ""Publishers Weekly"" "Give Thrasher credit: his debut novel, "The Promise Remains," was one of the nicest surprises in CBA fiction last year, and this second offering is a notch above the first." -- on "The Watermark" ""Publishers Weekly"" "Thrasher's best novel to date, with a nifty, airtight plot; a love story; and a serious theme about how some of us reform, and some of us don't." (starred review) -- on "Admission" ""Booklist""

A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
