About the Book

Graphene-Based Polymer Composites for Biomedical Applications offers an in-depth exploration of how graphene can be integrated into polymer matrices to advance biomedical technologies. The book begins by introducing readers to the essential properties of graphene, its synthesis methods, and approaches to characterization. It then delves into the critical choices involved in selecting appropriate polymer matrices and dispersion techniques, followed by detailed guidance on fabrication processes. By focusing on ways to optimize the structural, mechanical, electrical, and thermal features of graphene-polymer composites, this resource helps readers understand how these materials can address current challenges in the biomedical field. In addition to its technical coverage, the book thoroughly assesses diverse biomedical applications such as drug delivery systems, tissue engineering scaffolds, biosensors, medical imaging, and blood-brain interfaces. It carefully examines both the benefits and potential limitations associated with these composites. The text also discusses crucial translational aspects, including biocompatibility assessments, safety considerations, and regulatory requirements.
