About the Book

ECG Complete is written in an informal style and is illustrated with example 12 lead electrocardiograms, ECG rhythm strips, flow charts and diagrams. This complete guide to electrocardiography is set out in three simple chapters divided logically into: 1. ECG Basics - Background & history 2. How to record an ECG 3. How to read an ECG Because electrocardiography isn't just about ECG interpretation, the first chapter provides the reader with a context within which to place the ECG, underpinned by basic anatomical, physiological and physical concepts. The second chapter provides hints and tips on the practical aspects associated with actually performing an ECG and how to correct those things which might go wrong. The How to read an ECG chapter is divided into sections corresponding with the order in which an ECG would be interpreted in real life. The book is structured to act as a quick-look reference guide as much as a tool for interpretation. All aspects of interpretation are described in a unique, easy-to-follow format that doesn't demand daring feats of memory but rather acts as a tool and guide to the correct diagnosis. All of the cardiac rhythms and abnormalities likely to be encountered in everyday practice are presented, including the more topical (but less frequently encountered) sudden death syndromes and the AF sub-types.

Table of Contents:
Section 1 : ECG basics and history Section 2 : The ECG in practice Section 3 : How to read an ECG . Heart rate and rhythms . Intervals and wave forms . A-Z of abnormalities Index

Review :
Commended Title - BMA Awards 2007 - "This book is extremely well written and provides a good historic background to ECG practice. This book stands out amongst the competition by its superb writing style and clarity of explanations of how to interpret an ECG. I would thoroughly recommend this book to my medical students as an alternative to the classic texts that are usually referred to." ECG Complete was the perfect learning tool. It guides you comprehensively from theory to practice, both to perform an ECG and to analyse the result...a useful text for anyone working with ECGs. Medical Student, Bristol University
