About the Book

Set against a worldwide context of primary health care, the issues discussed here look at the key role the nursing profession can, and should, play in implementing "health for all" in Australia. This publication presents a variety of issues around the three themes of health reform, professionalism and nursing practice. The authors have contributed a perspective on issues which are of particular interest to them such as Aboriginal health, psychiatric deinstitutionalization, the nurse as ethicist, sexuality and nursing, industrial power and nurses' control over nursing.
