About the Book

'I've cast thousands of spells,' said the witch to her cat. 'I've flown twice round the world and my battery's flat. It's been a long day. I need a good rest. I wonder what kind of a place would be best.' Join the witch and her long-suffering cat, Matt on their search for the best bed in the world. They join badgers in their sets, otters on the sea, birds in the air and bats on trees, but nothing seems quite perfect until they remember their own very comfortable bed!

Review :
A fast-paced story-poem fizzing with energy. It deserves to be a bestseller. - The Guardian This rhyming text is ideal for any cold windy, winter night when it is raining outside and you are snug and warm. - The Lady LORD OF THE DANCE: 'An intriguing and well-written psychological novel.' - The Northern Echo THE BURNING 'The insidiousness of evil is beautifully handled in Allen's exploration of jealousy and revenge.' - JANNI HOWKER in TES The writing style is exceptional ... Highly recommended, school libraries should add THE BURNING to their collection and explore other titles by this gifted author. - Beth Ashworth, Teacher Librarian, Fiction Focus THE BURNING 'The writing is tense and the complex plotting assured, which adds up to an exciting, imaginative tale ...' - BOOKS FOR KEEPS LORD OF THE DANCE: 'This is a fascinating book which will not remain long on the shelves but should certainly be available for young teenage readers.' - The School Librarian THE SPRING ON THE MOUNTAIN: 'Elemental is exactly the word to describe its strange plot. ... Spellbinding.' - Manchester Evening News
