American Historical Fiction: An Annotated Guide to Novels for Adults and Young Adults

This publication will fill a gap in the bibliographic reference shelf by identifying historical novels for both adult and young adult readers. ^IAmerican Historical Fiction^R contains over 3,000 titles set in states and historical regions of the United States. Entries are organized by time period. The newest titles, as well as old favorites, are covered. The volume is indexed by author, title, genre, subject, and geographic setting.

Lynda G. Adamson, PhD, is professor of English and chair of the English Department at Prince Georges Community College in Largo, MD, near Washington, DC. She has received her college's Faculty Senate Excellence Award for Teaching and is a member of the International Research Society for Childrens Literature. She is the author of several articles and books, including A Reference Guide to Historical Fiction for Children and Young Adults, Recreating the Past, Literature Connections to American History, K-6, Literature Connections to American History, 7-12, Literature Connections to World History, K-6, Literature Connections to World History, 7-12, and Notable Women in World History: A Guide to Recommended Biographies and Autobiographies.
