About the Book

If it's true that you are where you live, then cunning superagent Lucinda Wells controls the destiny of New York high society. Embezzlement, forgery, dot-com busts - these are the scandals that pepper the lives of the financiers, entrepreneurs, socialites and inheritors who are vying for the best locations and who will risk everything to own them. Only Lucinda knows how to expose their weaknesses and play them off against each other, holding the precious key to their kingdoms in the palm of her manicured hand. In three scenarios through which we learn the devastating and occasionally blissful effects of the market's twists and turns, Margolis captures the zeitgeist of a cultural moment. He keeps us on the edge of our seat with the rise and fall of his characters' fortunes, in a sizzling tale of the city's power players.

Review :
"Fans of Tom Wolfe and Jonathan Franzen will revel in this zesty tale of penthouse envy and dot-com detumescence set in Manhattan's lofty world of up-and-coming millionaires and down-and-out billionaires . From Lucinda's IM-speak dialogue to Lily's couturier wardrobe, Margolis adroitly targets New York society's egregious excesses with laser-like accuracy." -"Booklist" " Fans of Tom Wolfe and Jonathan Franzen will revel in this zesty tale of penthouse envy and dot-com detumescence set in Manhattan's lofty world of up-and-coming millionaires and down-and-out billionaires... .
