About the Book

Carl Webster, the handsome cowboy U.S. Marshall from THE HOT KID, is back. He's in Detroit to track down two escaped Nazis that broke out of an Oklahoma POW camp. Honey Deal is as smooth as Southern Comfort and smarter than most men, certainly smarter than her ex-husband. Carl suspects Honey's ex is hiding the men on his farm outside of Detroit and recruits her aid in sweet-talking Walter out of information about their location. German-born Walter Schoen is a butcher by trade, loyal to the Fatherland. A wannabe Nazi spy, he fancies himself Heinrich Himmler's secret twin and aspires to greatness. Honey likes the idea of being a spy herself, but this sugar pie from Kentucky knows which side she wants to be on, and it's not Walter's. Will Carl get his man and keep his Hot Kid status? Or will Honey get Carl?

Review :
Leonard's inimitable stylish narrative brings this collection of bizarre characters together into an entertaining, if slighter than usual tale. - THE SUNDAY TELEGRAPH - Susanna Yager As usual, Leonard has you really caring about people who, if you met them in real life, you'd run a mile from. It's just brilliant. - THE DAILY TELEGRAPH - Jake Kerridge while everything is scabrously funny and entertaining, he is still able to incorporate issues of personal morality and commitment. - THE DAILY EXPRESS - Barry Forshaw Another stunning, relaxed, amusing and exhilarating book from the master of American crime writing. - THE GUARDIAN - Matthew Lewin He writes with an exuberance of an author half his age. - THE HERALD - Allan Laing Leonard is still in great form after more than 40 novels, and UP IN HONEY'S ROOM doesn't disappoint. His seedy wartime Detroit with its twists and double-crosses is brought to life with humour and pace in this exhilarating piece of noir fiction. - THE FINANCIAL TIMES - Chaz Folkes the dialogue is as imaginative, unpredictable and witty as we have come to expect from Leonard. - THE TIMES - Marcel Berlins This is a book which is both funny and gritty and of course, impeccably written. - THE DUBLIN EVENING HERALD - George Byrne
