About the Book

One accident. No survivors. So where are the bodies? This is David Raker's most heart-pounding and tense case yet. Ten seconds before the crash, Cate and Aiden Gascoigne are recorded on CCTV. The couple are laughing - happy, untroubled. Then their car plunges into a ninety-foot ravine. The impact should kill them. And if that doesn't, the fire will. Within seconds, the vehicle is an inferno - with the Gascoignes trapped inside. But when fire crews arrive at the scene, they find something impossible. The vehicle is empty. Cate and Aiden have vanished. Now only missing persons investigator David Raker can solve the mystery . . .

Review :
I much enjoyed Tim Weaver 's latest, The Blackbird. It's a fine addition to an excellent series With the David Raker novels, Tim Weaver has carved out an area of British crime fiction uniquely his own. Unsettling, brilliantly plotted, and satisfyingly complex, these books are unputdownable, and the latest - The Blackbird - is no exception. If you haven't yet met Raker, you're in for a treat I always look forward to a new Raker but The Blackbird blew me away. Brilliantly plotted, deliciously dark and so clever and unpredictable I was left reeling as I turned the last page. I'm already eagerly awaiting Tim Weaver's next. A writer at the top of his game A brilliant missing persons mystery with plenty of intrigue and a jaw-dropping number of twists and turns. Truly excellent Incredibly well-paced, with menacing, clever twists - Raker is back in this stunning read from one of the masters of the genre. Tim Weaver goes from strength to strength and this is his best book yet The impressive Weaver triumphs again with this intricate mystery Shocking, gripping, heart-pounding, The Blackbird is unputdownable . . . Bloody brilliant Taut and immersive, with all the hallmarks of a true crime novel This is the 11th novel by Weaver to feature his widowed sleuth, and the author's casual expertise is firmly in evidence A killer concept, and a twisty, addictive tale. Fabulous! Weaver lives up to his name with this expertly spun web of dark secrets and inexplicable disappearances Praise for Tim Weaver Terrific Thrilling Bliss So many twists and surprises
