About the Book

This historic book may have numerous typos and missing text. Purchasers can download a free scanned copy of the original book (without typos) from the publisher. Not indexed. Not illustrated. 1856 edition. Excerpt: ... while" during which " he was made lower than the angels," evidently in regard to his passible Heb. ii. 7. body. In the 14th verse, which I quoted before, St. Paul tells us that Christ took part of flesh and blood: and the reason he gives is," Because he helpeth not angels, but he helpeth the seed of Abraham." Or, conversely, Christ in heaven helpeth not the fallen angels, but he helpeth fallen man who embraces his gospel: for which purpose he took not on him angelic nature, but an earthly and passible body, because without shedding of blood there is no remission; and his human soul while on earth having had full experience of the...
