Afterwards He took a cup with wine in it, gave thanks, offered it, blessed it, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it: this is My blood, the blood of the new testament, which is shed for you. Do this in remembrance of Me. In this way our Blessed Saviour gave to His Church the means of eating His flesh and drinking His blood to the end of the world, sothat all who in penitence, faith, and charity receive that Holy Sacrament, obtain remission of their sins, and all other benefits of His Passion. That is the most precious blessing which the Church on earth enjoys. Afterwards He went out with them unto the Mount of Olives, and entered into a garden where He used to go to pray; there He suffered His agony and bloody sweat, there He prayed to His Father with strong crying and tears, still saying, Thy will be done. Then came Judas with a company of soldiers, and they took Jesus, and bound Him, and led Him to the house of the high-priest, where He was condemned to death, though no fault at all could be found in Him.
