Review :
"This is the best written and most accessible textbook on legislative communication. Straddling the forum and the Internet, this elegant, comprehensive, and useful guide is an ideal primer for our digital democracy."--Anthony Di Renzo, Ithaca College "The ideal choice for undergraduate and graduate courses in public policy and public administration. Smith effectively reviews the policymaking process and applies timely and well-informed case studies."--Thomas J. Vicino, Northeastern University "Students will take away professional writing skills that will serve them well in any work setting. The text provides samples of testimony, memos, and other types of policy writing on timely topics that are useful for undergraduates, graduate students, and practitioners alike."--Jennifer Jackman, Salem State University "Writing Public Policy is the perfect blend of theory with practical advice. I only wish that I had this book thirty years ago when I began my Federal career. I highly recommend it to any individual planning a career in local, state, or Federal government. This book presents an honest, accurate assessment of communicating in the public policy environment. It is definitely a must-have reference book."--Lynda Deaton, former Manager, Executive Operations, Federal Aviation Administration, and current Master's Degree candidate, Professional and Technical Communication, East Carolina University
