About the Author :
Clare Montgomery KC is a highly respected advocate specializing in criminal, regulatory and fraud law, best known for her work on legally and factually complex cross border cases. For the past decade, Clare has dealt with extremely demanding and difficult legal cases. She has featured in the starred category of KC's recommended for crime, fraud and extradition for the whole of that period. The Hon Sir Julian Knowles has been a High Court judge since 2017. Prior to that, he was a Queen's Counsel at Matrix Chambers. He specialized in complex crime, extradition, public law, and media law, and appeared in many legally significant and high-profile cases including the Pinochet extradition case; the Hillsborough Disaster; the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes; R v Vicky Pryce; R v Kenneth Noye; and R v Siôn Jenkins. He has appeared in many cases in the House of Lords, Privy Council, and Supreme Court, including the seminal case of R v Jogee and R v Ruddock, which fundamentally reformed the law of murder. Anand Doobay has written and spoken widely on legal issues, and his articles and commentary have appeared in both the legal and mainstream media. He has contributed to many of the leading legal textbooks dealing with the areas of law he specializes in, including financial crime, extradition, and mutual legal assistance. Mark Summers KC is recognized as one of the country's foremost extradition lawyers. He is regularly instructed to advise and appear on behalf of individuals and foreign governments in proceedings in the United Kingdom and abroad. He was previously Chair of the Extradition Lawyers' Association. His caseload has included UK v Anne Sacoolas; Elgizouli v Secretary of State; Julian Assange; South Africa v Shrien Dewani; the attempted Regicide of the King of Spain; and the 9/11 attacks. He has a particular expertise in espionage and hacking cases, including the 'Trojan Horse' commercial espionage computer virus; hacking into the Pentagon and Pearl Harbour and NASA computer networks; KGB espionage in the former Soviet bloc; treason; and impairing the battle-readiness of the US Atlantic fleet. James Stansfeld is a leading junior in extradition, crime, and public law. His expertise in extradition is widely recognized, with regular instructions in the most complex matters. He has significant expertise and experience in cross jurisdictional issues and in the cross-over between criminal and public law work.
