About the Book

During the past two decades, a wealth of information has resulted from research on the chemistry, sensory physiology, and behaviour of insects with respect to olfactory stimulation, particularly by pheromones. The amassed knowledge in these areas has now been developed to a state where it can help in providing a coherent analysis of the mechanisms that underly the behavioural and physiological events taking place in olfactory perception. Based on a workshop held in Oxford, this volume brings together contributions from leading research workers in a variety of areas. It aims to present and evaluate the results of recent work, and to indicate directions for future research.

Table of Contents:
