Price, Professor Emeritus at Vanderbilt University, has written extensively on a broad range of topics, including Renaissance visual art, Christian-Jewish relations, religious toleration, the history of the Bible, humanism, and the Reformation. He is also the author of Defending Judaism: Jewish Writing and Religious Toleration in Early Modern Europe, Johannes Reuchlin and the Campaign to Destroy Jewish Books, and Albrecht Dürer's Renaissance: Humanism, Reformation, and the Art of Faith.

Scholars of the Bible and the history of its consequences will welcome his decentering of the biblical text and the written and oral media usually studied for its interpretation (commentaries, sermons, and theological tracts).
