Review :
For those of us in academia for some time now, Shahid Javed Burki's papers and books have been pivotal for understanding Pakistan's social and economic transitions... This book is prescient. Although written in 2006, it anticipates outcomes and events that shook Pakistan and the military government of Musharraf throughout 2007. The Herald
