Derek Chollet served in senior positions in the Obama Administration at the White House, State Department, and Pentagon, most recently as US Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs. Currently the Executive Vice President of the German Marshall Fund of the United States, he is also a visiting scholar at the University of Pennsylvania's Perry World House. A frequent commentator on US foreign policy and politics, his previous
