About the Author :
This book is based on many years of teaching engineering graphics to engineering students and many hyears of engineering practice as professional engineers. Don McAdam is a registered professional engineer in British Columbia, and Roger Winn is a certified manufacturing engineer in Nova Scotia; they have, between them, over 70 years of engineering experience in academic institutions and in industry.   Don McAdam worked for a number of years in the nuclear industry after receiving his B.Sc. from the University of Alberta. He received a Ph.D. in 1975 and has been in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of British Columbia since then and has been in charge of the engineering graphic courses. He has been a consultant to industry and the legal profession on numerous things, including engineering drawings, and currently teaches engineering design and heat transfer.   Roger Winn has worked in heavy industrial engineering, in tool and die, and with engineering consultants. He also acts as a consultant on Geometric Tolerancing Application to manufacturing industries. Since 1987, he has taught at the University College of Cape Breton in Sydney, Nova Scotia, where he is currently chair of the engineering department and coordinator of the Bachelor of Technology in Manufacturing program. Roger has a Master’s Degree in Computer Aided Manufacturing and is a senior member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
