Recent Results and Perspective Instrumental Developments in X- and Gamma-ray Astronomy: Proceedings(Advances in Space Research S.)

This volume contains the majority of the papers presented at the meetings entitled "Highlights in X-Ray and Gamma-Ray Astronomy with the Most Recent Missions" and "Imaging and Spectroscopy for Gamma-Ray Space Missions". Represents the state-of-the-art of high energy X- and gamma-ray photons studied in astrophysics. Concentrating on the results obtained from space borne instruments and also on the instruments themselves particularly detectors designed to capture photons with energies of the order of tens of MeV and higher, these Proceedings contain the first results from new successful missions such as ROSAT and SIGMA, and discussions on the latest data from GINGA, SMM and KWANT.
