About the Book

These days managers are faced with not only more projects but more complex projects that may range from teams of two to teams of twenty. With projects being the critical contribution to the bottom line, managing them successfully is key. To manage a project well, there are a number of factors to consider from the technology to the teams. And managers know that it's the people who make or break a project - so how do they take advantage of the great untapped potential that is already right there in their business? The Project Management Workbook provides readers with the tools to not only efficiently manage a project from start to finish but also how to work more effectively with the people who are driving the projects. This valuable, hands-on workbook shows managers how to implement the key tips and techniques to successful project management. Moving beyond the technology of project management, this quick and easy-to-follow guide explains the project management process step-by-step, with an emphasis on managing people for the most efficient results. Filled with sample forms, checklists, and worksheets, The Project Management Workbook shows managers how to integrate the three key areas of project management - technology, process, and people - to produce successful projects without adding to the costs. This valuable guide presents strategies for better management throughout the project, from initial start-up to final evaluation. The workbook format provides readers with an easy-to-use resource for implementing these techniques, eliminating the need to design and develop. From short-term to long-term projects, The Project Management Workbook provides ways to recognize and reward employees during the life of the project. Readers will also learn how to: - Improve project management skills - Manage projects on a limited budget - Build and maintain effective project management teams - Use the Appreciative Inquiry Approach to implement asset-based solutions From how to kick off a project to developing documentation specs, The Project Management Workbook is a handy reference for busy managers who need to enhance the success of their projects.
