About the Book
DEA Special Agent Garrett Kohl and his CIA team embark on an off-the-books investigation and partner up with a ragtag crew of outcasts and outlaws to stop extortionists and dismantle their operation before complete devastation rains down in their Texas High Plains community in this pulse-pounding thriller for fans of C. J. Box.
After hunting down a rogue spy as part of an elite CIA counterespionage unit, Garrett Kohl returns home to Texas in hopes of settling down and carving out a normal life. While learning the ropes of fatherhood, falling deeper in love with his high school crush, and rebuilding his wildfire ravaged cattle ranch, he is approached in secret by an engineer working at a nearby nuclear weapons plant, who is in desperate need of his help.
Utilizing a unique skill set--abilities Garrett has honed as a deep cover narcotics agent and former Green Beret--he embarks on an off-the-books investigation and learns that Iranian operatives are blackmailing weapons facility employees and potentially planning a devastating act of sabotage and destruction.
Already engaged in an intense shadow war with Tehran and their Quds Force spies, Garrett's CIA team rallies to take down the extortionists and dismantle their operation. But before they can get their mission under way, enemy commandos hijack a train carrying nuclear weapons, and activate a lone wolf assassin to murder the visiting U.S. Secretary of Defense.
Caught flatfooted by the sudden attack, Garrett musters the only help he can find--a ragtag crew of outcasts and outlaws, some of whom he'd once put behind bars. Although they're from different walks of life, and opposite sides of the law, they hold in common the deep desire to protect their homes, their families, and their way of life on the remote, wild, and alluring Texas High Plains. From a former CIA intelligence officer and consultant for the Department of Defense comes an exhilarating thriller that shows the power in unity.

Review :
"Taylor Moore gives his readers an insider's glimpse into a world of covert operations that few novelists can match. Ricochet has it all: great writing, perfect plotting, quick pacing, and a cast of high-octane characters that brings it all together. An extraordinary accomplishment from a relatively new author with a fresh voice and a new way of looking at the age-old struggle between good and evil." - Nelson Demille, #1 New York Times Bestselling author of The Maze and The Cuban Affair
"An action-adventure thriller." - Red Carpet Crash
"A slam-bang, can't-miss reading adventure that reminds everyone that everything--even the action--really is bigger in Texas. Moore's gonna be a star. . . if you aren't already reading him, start." - The Real Book Spy
"Moore may not have invented the modern take on this tried and true genre, but he displays a mastery of it here on par with Lee Child's similarly protective figure, Jack Reacher. To that, he adds a dash of Brad Thor to the mix in fashioning a tale that will leave you longing for the next entry in the series." - BookTrib
"[A] masterwork of classic storytelling: a man defending his own in the best tradition of a John Wayne or Clint Eastwood film. Think No Country for Old Men with Box's Joe Pickett taking over for Ed Tom Bell. Down Range is downright awesome." - Providence Journal on Down Range
"This high stakes thriller filled with well-drawn characters satisfies on all levels. A fine read that's true to the Lone Star State and all Texans." - Reavis Z Wortham, award-winning author of the Texas Red River series
"Mix Craig Johnson's Longmire and Lee Child's Reacher with a humongous dollop of pure, high-powered originality and you get Taylor Moore's Garrett Kohl. It's the mark of a great thriller when you can't put it down until the end. Ricochet not only takes care of that, but leaves you breathlessly hanging on for Kohl's next adventure." - Jerome Priesler, New York Times bestselling author of Tom Clancy's Power Plays series
"Wild and gritty as a West Texas road, Ricochet snaps with action and unbridled authenticity. Taylor Moore is the real deal. I'll read anything he writes." - Marc Cameron, New York Times bestselling author of Breakneck
"A thrilling tale of family and global brinkmanship set on the high plains of West Texas, Taylor Moore's Ricochet starts like wildfire and picks up speed with every page you turn." - Nick Petrie, author of The Runaway
