About the Book

"The Queer Principles of Kit Webb kept me up all night! I simply couldn't put it down."-- Tessa Dare, New York Times bestselling author "Sharp, smart, and oh-so-swoony, The Queer Principles of Kit Webb reminds me that Cat Sebastian is an author at the absolute top of her game."-- Rachel Hawkins, New York Times bestselling author Named one of Goodreads "Readers' Top 100 Romances of 2020-2022" Critically acclaimed author Cat Sebastian pens a stunning historical romance about a reluctantly reformed highwayman and the aristocrat who threatens to steal his heart. Kit Webb has left his stand-and-deliver days behind him. But dreary days at his coffee shop have begun to make him pine for the heady rush of thievery. When a handsome yet arrogant aristocrat storms into his shop, Kit quickly realizes he may be unable to deny whatever this highborn man desires. In order to save himself and a beloved friend, Percy, Lord Holland must go against every gentlemanly behavior he holds dear to gain what he needs most: a book that once belonged to his mother, a book his father never lets out of his sight and could be Percy's savior. More comfortable in silk-filled ballrooms than coffee shops frequented by criminals, his attempts to hire the roughly hewn highwayman, formerly known as Gladhand Jack, proves equal parts frustrating and electrifying. Kit refuses to participate in the robbery but agrees to teach Percy how to do the deed. Percy knows he has little choice but to submit and as the lessons in thievery begin, he discovers thievery isn't the only crime he's desperate to commit with Kit. But when their careful plan goes dangerously wrong and shocking revelations threaten to tear them apart, can these stolen hearts overcome the impediments in their path?

Review :
"Some historical romance novels are truly exemplary not just because of the deserved happy ending they offer their characters, but the established systems in place they masterfully interrogate in the process. Sebastian's trade debut, The Queer Principles of Kit Webb, manages to be so many different things at once: a charming and mesmerizing romance, a comedic heist novel that perfectly encapsulates the Be Gay Do Crimes slogan, and a story that wrestles on the page with class difference and the inherent privilege that comes with wealth and possessions." - Vulture "Cat Sebastian is a queen of queer historical romance...Sebastian never disappoints." - Entertainment Weekly "Cat Sebastian is one of my favorite writers in romance or any other genre. The Queer Principles of Kit Webb, like all her other books, is intelligent, wryly funny, deeply thoughtful, empathetic, and romantic as can be. I absolutely loved it." - Olivia Dade, author of Spoiler Alert "Sebastian's prose is entertaining and delightful, with many steamy scenes...It's also full of intelligent and thought-provoking political debates...An irresistible story of love and adventure that will delight both newcomers and regular readers of queer romance." - Kirkus Reviews (starred review) "Wielding a rapier-sharp wit and displaying an exceptional gift for insightful characterization, Sebastian fashions another fiercely romantic, fabulously sexy m/m love story that not only delivers a delicious surfeit of slow-burn sexual chemistry but also deftly illustrates the true complexity of all human relationships." - Booklist "Their sexual tension is a living, breathing thing on the page, but merci-fully, Sebastian doesn't leave them in want for long. And there's plenty of sparkling dialogue to go with their physical connection. Kit has very clear opinions about the privilege Percy is fighting to protect, and their conver-sations about class and politics are uniformly excellent and fascinating. Kit Webb will surprise and delight not only fans of Sebastian and queer historical romance but also readers who are new to both." - BookPage (starred) "With The Queer Principles of Kit Webb, Cat Sebastian's newest, we get the full Georgian-era experience: coffeehouses, lace cuffs, noblemen in pastel silks and ballad-worthy highwaymen whose thieving days are almost, almost behind them....Highwayman, it turns out, is a pitch-perfect role for a queer historical hero. If you're already risking your neck to steal purses and harry the gentry, you'll think nothing of risking your neck for someone you love... The book does not so much tear down class boundaries as dynamite the very idea of class itself, which is becoming a satisfying theme in Sebastian's work. Laws that exist only to hurt people are unjust; systems that depend on people's misery should be subverted and dismantled at every chance. The right to love and be loved as we are is a compass that always points toward justice." - New York Times Book Review "[A] historical slow-burn romance that will have you rooting for both the good and the "bad" guys...will keep you turning the pages as quickly as you can read them." - Popsugar "Sebastian gives readers a beautiful, emotional romance between two people who are thoroughly perfect for each other; Alistair's response to Robin's revelations is as powerful and poignant as the couple's happily ever after is triumphant." - Sarah MacLean, Washington Post, on Unmasked by the Marquess "This book is a marvel and a gem." - New York Times Book Review on Unmasked by the Marquess "The Queer Principles of Kit Webb is by turns witty, heartfelt, sexy, and deeply emotional. I devoured it and am clamoring for more." - Eva Leigh, author of My Fake Rake "The Queer Principles of Kit Webb kept me up all night! I simply couldn't put it down." - Tessa Dare, New York Times bestselling author "Sharp, smart, and oh-so-swoony, The Queer Principles of Kit Webb reminds me that Cat Sebastian is an author at the absolute top of her game." - Erin Sterling, New York Times bestselling author of The Ex Hex

A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
