About the Book

Detective Jeremy Fisk tracks a serial sniper who has mastered state-of-the-art airborne technology to hunt his prey in this chilling thriller from the New York Times bestselling author and creator of the Law & Order franchise.

When a leaker named Verlyn Merritt releases sensitive documents from the NYPD Intelligence Division to WikiLeaks, some of the deadliest criminals have access to Detective Jeremy Fisk’s unlisted home address. Within hours, three mysterious assailants arrive at his Sutton Place apartment. Who are they and why do they want Fisk dead

Authorities quickly identify and arrest Merritt. But the case takes a sinister twist when an anonymous third party makes threats if authorities don’t release Merritt immediately. Forced from his home and his bank accounts drained, Fisk confronts Chay Maryland, a reporter who has been covering Merritt’s case. Fisk wants the journalist’s help to get close to the leaker—to find out what Merritt really wants and who else is involved.

The investigation is nearly derailed when a serial sniper begins shooting people on the street who seem to have no connection to Merritt’s case. The killer’s aim is eerily accurate—and Fisk believes the shooter might be using a drone rigged with unusual sighting capabilities. Then the sniper contacts the New York Times and promises to kill one person every day, “for the greater good of the citizens of America.

With the clock ticking and millions of lives at stake, Fisk and Chay must find the mastermind before he can wreak havoc on a city paralyzed by fear.

Review :

"Dick Wolf doesn't rip his stories from the headlines, he predicts them before they even happen! . . . Wolf is the most prescient thriller writer writing today. - The Daily News

"Wolf . . . is in complete control. . . . His smartly drawn characters and situations lift the novel, as do the crisp chase scenes and shootouts. Another solid thriller by Wolf, who is proving as dependable a novelist as a TV producer." - Kirkus Reviews

"The third incredible book by Dick Wolf featuring Detective Jeremy Fisk... [A]very intense and thrilling ride... In magnificent Dick Wolf fashion (creator of Law & Order), there are shadows and corruption around every corner. There are many situations and characters in this novel, and the readers will love it. The chase scenes are unforgettable, and the use of drones show that lethal edge that is coming closer and closer to reality." - Suspense Magazine

"The third incredible book by Dick Wolf featuring Detective Jeremy Fisk. . . . [A]very intense and thrilling ride... In magnificent Dick Wolf fashion (creator of Law & Order), there are shadows and corruption around every corner. . . . Readers will love it. The chase scenes are unforgettable." - Suspense Magazine

"Wolf is not just a brilliant TV producer; he's a fine writer, too. He keeps the pages turning and the suspense building. Exciting reading for suspense and procedural junkies." - Wes Lukowsky, Booklist

"Wolf's best yet. . . . Wolf's storytelling skills are on full display in The Ultimatum, and readers couldn't ask for a more worthwhile beach read." - Lisa Ko, author of The Leavers

"Exciting... Wolf keeps the story moving briskly. Fisk and Maryland make a surprisingly good team, and both play key roles in the startling ending." - Publishers Weekly

"Dick Wolf's The Intercept is nail-biting, page-turning, twisty suspense. Warning: If you value sleep, don't start this one late at night." - Harlan Coben

"An adrenaline-fueled, ripped-from-the-headlines suspense novel, as befitting a renowned TV crime drama writer and producer. The Intercept goes where few thrillers have gone before, charting the inner workings of the nation's fight against terrorism as one New York detective races against the clock to stop an elusive cell of elite terrorists. It does for the NYPD's Intelligence Division what Thomas Harris did for the FBI's Behavioral Science Unit. In this novel, danger is always closer than you think." - Lisa Gardner

"A smart, suspenseful, highly professional piece of work that should rank with the best of this year's thrillers." - Washington Post

"A spectacular fiction debut . . . A pulsating plotline. Clever characters. Dramatic dialogue. Surprising twists. All make for an edge-of-your-seat read that will have thriller fans eagerly awaiting the next series installment." - Library Journal

"Wolf, creator of TV's Law & Order franchise, is in complete control. The basic outlines of the story may be familiar, but his smartly drawn characters and situations lift the novel, as do the crisp chase scenes and shootouts. And the sniper and drone elements couldn't be timelier. Another solid thriller by Wolf, who is proving as dependable a novelist as a TV producer." - Kirkus Reviews

"[Wolf] is now putting his stamp in the political thriller genre challenging the likes of Brad Thor and David Baldacci . . . [He's] a master storyteller." - Suspense Magazine

"The Intercept is the hottest thriller of the year. Superbly written and amazingly intense, Dick Wolf has created an action-packed masterpiece. Picture Robert Ludlum writing for "24" and you're only halfway there. Do not miss this incredible novel. Intercept yours ASAP!" - Brad Thor

The Execution is everything you'd expect from Wolf, the creator of the successful Law & Order television franchise--lots of action, quick scene changes and a great deal of insider knowledge of everything from weapons to politics. . . . a brisk and entertaining read." - Cleveland Plain Dealer

"Smashing . . . The author brings several decades' worth of New York City understanding to the adventures of Jeremy Fisk . . . Garza is a terrific character, brilliant and cool, but with a terrible backstory that slowly filters out as the story unfolds. She meets her match in Fisk, and Wolf develops a relationship between the two people that is emotionally satisfying because it never feels trumped up. . . . The author's mastery of plotting and pacing is demonstrated in a remarkable chapter late in the novel when Garza and Wolf have a drink in a Manhattan hotel and we get to see the emotional and career common ground that they share. . . . The Execution proves that The Intercept wasn't a fluke. Dick Wolf should be as successful and as enduring in the world of books as he has been in the television industry." - Connecticut Post

The Intercept: "Part police procedural and part ticking-bomb thriller." - New York Times

"Fascinating, tense, and twisty--the real deal." - Lee Child

Praise for The Execution: "A page-turning novel that reads like a compelling episode of the best television has to offer." - Seattle Post-Intelligencer
