About the Book

Where to go to see the best of British Wildlife. Bill Oddie showed you how to watch wildlife, now BBC TV presenters Chris Packham, Mike Dilger, Sanjida O'Connell and Janet Sumner show you where. In this tie-in to a new 40-part BBC 2 series, Nature's Calendar, the presenters give you insider knowledge about the best times to visit the best wildlife locations across the UK - from the famous to the less well-known - and what you are likely to see there. This inspirational guide from some of the UK's top wildlife experts celebrates our unique countryside, rich habitats and extraordinary diversity of species. Covering locations across the British Isles, including woodland, rivers, hills, grassland, seashore and wetlands, they gives you their top locations each month with: / their personal take on the location, and its highlights / visitor information (opening times, entry cost, how to get there, map etc) / animal and plant profiles for each location. Nature's Calendar covers all the locations shown in the series, and lists numerous other hotspots around the country that are worth visiting too.
