Review :
This book explores an important, real-life skill that all principals should possess in their toolkit. Partnerships with outside agencies boost programs that schools can offer their students. In turn, students are provided with a rich, more advanced educational experience. Furthermore, forming partnerships empowers all stakeholders to have a community-based mindset. This is a must read for any sitting or aspiring school leader. Dr. Wepner and Dr. Gomez provide an excellent road map for educational leaders to develop strong community, business, college and university partnerships to support the challenges facing K-12 schools. Wepner and Gomez offer specific examples and guidelines to help leaders tap into their entrepreneurial spirit to create innovative partnerships to improve schools through increased funding, resources and help, leading to more opportunities for students and the community at large. This book recognizes the important work of K-12 leaders and the need to form partnerships to afford opportunities for students and staff. It is a valuable read that provides insight for leveling the playing field for public schools. Our students are naturally collaborative, curious, and creative, and an entrepreneurial leader ensures that school curriculum empowers students to recreate the world as they see fit. Entrepreneurial leaders pursue partnerships to enrich the curriculum, which is exactly what the world needs. This book helps entrepreneurial leaders know what to do to develop partnerships that work for their schools and their students. Successful schools extend the concept of student engagement well beyond the walls of the classroom. Entrepreneurial Leadership offers school leaders a road map for developing strategic partnerships with individuals, groups, and organizations that simultaneously enhance the educational experience of students and build a culture of engagement. This book is essential for any innovative, solution-oriented leader seeking to broaden the coalition of stakeholders that actively contribute to student achievement and success.
