About the Book

The book explores the field of drug repurposing with a focus on past trends and developments. The book delves into the repurposing of bioactive phytomolecules and their applications in various therapeutic areas, including neurological disorders, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and autoimmune conditions. Additionally, it addresses the pressing need for repurposing drugs to combat infectious and neglected diseases, including an in-depth analysis of drug repurposing strategies in the management of COVID-19. Throughout the chapters, readers will find case studies highlighting prominent examples of repurposed drugs, challenges related to regulatory and patent issues, and the role of computational modelling and AI in accelerating drug discovery. This essential resource showcases how drug repurposing revolutionizes modern medicine and fosters a paradigm shift in pharmaceutical research. The book is a valuable resource for students, researchers, academicians, and pharmacologists.
