About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION Hester, a 28-year-old Dutch girl in 1998, had just finished her degree in architecture. She left for Mexico a few weeks after graduating to meet up with Melisse, who was participating in a turtle conservation program on the Pacific coast. Their plan was to then travel to the United States to look for temporary work. For some inexplicable reason, they decided to cross by way of the dangerous Ciudad Juárez. Nobody imagined that her parents' farewell words would be the last they would say to her: "Goodbye, Hester, be careful. Goodbye, sweetie." A Cry for Help from Juárez tells of the hell that the Van Nierop family suffered after Hester's murder in a hotel in the border town during September of that same year. In this disturbing tale, tragedy and pain converge with the actions that Arsène has carried out in the search for justice, and against the ineptitude of the Mexican authorities.
