About the Book

There has been an increasing interest in Robert Walser’s prose in Poland since the 1970s. However, his reception in the Polish-speaking world is still in its beginnings and the Polish contributions show fundamental deficiencies: There is a lack of interpretative works of real literary experiences, as well as comparative and poetological studies which may reflect all aspects of Walser’s art of expression. Moreover, there is no comparison with aesthetically related works. The contributions in this volume, written at the Polish universities of Poznan and Opole, are dedicated to this desideratum. They are the result of years of research on the Swiss author.
