Sie begegnet Adelhelm, dem treuen Hüter militärischer Geheimnisse seines Ländchens, dessen Eifer so groß ist, dass er die Wende verpasst. Von der sozial denkenden Charlotta ist die Rede, die erfahren muss, dass ein gezielter Schlag auf den Hinterkopf manchmal auch Lichtblicke hervorrufen kann. In der Geschichte von der Familie Tickerly, die in New Patchwork-Germany nach ungewöhnlichen Mitteln greift, um aus der finanziellen Zwickmühle heraus und auf einen grünen Zweig zu kommen, wird der Hang der Autorin zur Satire besonders deutlich. Wie wird Walli Pottke, im versunkenen Ländle eine zwielichtige Julia im Dienste ihrer Oberen, die Wende überstehen? Von ihren Begegnungen erzählt die Autorin mit einem lachenden und einem weinenden Auge. Sie sagt: "Der Leser muss meine Gestalten nicht lieben, aber er sollte sie auch nicht hassen.
